Thursday Book Discussion: The Bear

Join us for a discussion of The Bear by Andrew Krivak. The Bear is the Galesburg Public Library's community read title for 2024.

In a changed future, a girl and her father live close to the land. They possess a few remnants of civilization. He is preparing her for an adulthood in harmony with nature, for they are the last left. When the girl suddenly finds herself lost and alone, it is a great bear that will lead her home through a vast wilderness. The Bear is a stunning tribute to the beauty of nature’s dominion. This program is supported by Galesburg Community Foundation.

Copies of The Bear can be picked up at the Galesburg Reads kickoff event at Standish Park on April 6 from 10:00 AM-3:00 PM. Copies will also be available at the library once it reopens, while supplies last.
